La jugada maestra de AMLO

Es cada vez más notorio que Estados Unidos toma la iniciativa en temas como migración y drogas, mientras que México reacciona con declaraciones simbólicas, a veces contradictorias, pero sin obtener resultados favorables a México. 

 

Ante cualquier problema, el gobierno mexicano lo enfrenta con retórica propagandística. Después de conversar el martes con el presidente Biden, el primer mandatario dijo que ambos países seguirán trabajando “en temas como la migración con dimensión humanista, el tráfico de drogas y armas y, sobre todo, en cooperación para el bienestar de los pueblos más pobres de nuestro continente”. 

 

No se puede calificar como humanista la muerte de 40 migrantes centroamericanos, ocurrida en instalaciones del Instituto Nacional de Migración en Ciudad Juárez, y peor aún sin que ningún alto mando del INM pague las consecuencias. 

 

La política migratoria de México es un desastre: no sólo carece de humanismo, es servil a Estados Unidos desde que Marcelo Ebrard convirtió a nuestro país en el patio trasero de la Border Patrol, el 15 de noviembre de 2018 en Houston, cuando se doblegó ante Mike Pompeo y aceptó “Quédate en México”, pidiéndole su complicidad para ocultar a los mexicanos la verdad, y a cambio recibir el apoyo estadounidense a su candidatura presidencial por servir a sus intereses, según escribió el entonces secretario de Estado en sus memorias Never give an inch (Nunca ceder en nada). 

 

Hace más de cuatro años y medio, en diciembre de 2018, Ebrard anunció casi 6 mil millones de dólares de Estados Unidos para el desarrollo centroamericano, pero ni Trump ni Pompeo enviaron un solo dólar para “construir una Centroamérica más próspera y segura y así, abordar las causas subyacentes de la migración con el objetivo de que los ciudadanos puedan construir mejores vidas para ellos y sus familias en casa”.  (Ver https://n9.cl/vpisws)  

 

A Ebrard le tomaron el pelo los estadounidenses. No hubo ayuda de EU pero en cambio sí fueron desplegados 30 mil militares mexicanos de la Guardia Nacional en las fronteras sur y norte, tal como lo exigió Trump con el garrote de los aranceles. 

 

México, que presume ser país independiente y soberano, aceptó sin chistar la aplicación extraterritorial en nuestro país del Título 42, que hoy expira, con el pretexto de prevenir la propagación de Covid-19. 

 

El sucesor de Trump necesita desesperadamente del gobierno de López Obrador para contener la ola de migrantes, hoy a punto de desbordarse a lo largo de la frontera. Veremos escenas dramáticas. 

 

Biden sabe muy bien que su futuro político depende en cierta medida de AMLO, pues si éste deja pasar a la muchedumbre agolpada en las garitas fronterizas, podría perder la reelección el año próximo. Trump agradecido atizará el fuego xenófobo para regresar a la Casa Blanca, con la ayuda de su amigo mexicano. 

 

AMLO está consciente que cuenta con una poderosa herramienta de negociación con el tema migratorio para disuadir a Biden a no intervenir en las políticas interna y energética. ‘Si apoyas a las ONGs adversarias a mi gobierno y te metes en contra de Pemex y de la CFE, dejo pasar a los migrantes’. 

 

Sin duda, sería una jugada maestra pero no deja de ser perverso tratar de usar a los migrantes como carne de cañón y aparentar ser protector de ellos.

The masterpiece of AMLO

It is increasingly notorious that the United States is taking the lead on issues such as migration and drugs, while Mexico reacts with symbolic statements, sometimes contradictory, but without obtaining results favorable to Mexico.

Faced with any problem, the Mexican government confronts it with propaganda rhetoric. After speaking with President Biden on Tuesday, the president said that both countries will continue to work “on issues such as migration with a humanist dimension, drug and arms trafficking and, above all, on cooperation for the well-being of the poorest peoples of our continent. ”

The death of 40 Central American migrants at the National Institute of Migration in Ciudad Juárez cannot be described as humanistic, and even worse, without any high command of the INM paying for the consequences.

Mexico’s migration policy is a disaster: it not only lacks humanism, it has been servile to the United States ever since Marcelo Ebrard (Secretary of Foreign Affairs) turned our country into the backyard of the Border Patrol on November 15, 2018 in Houston, when he bowed to Mike Pompeo and accepted “Stay in Mexico,” asking him to be complicit in hiding the truth from Mexicans, and in return to receive U. S. support for his presidential candidacy for serving their interests, as the then Secretary of State wrote in his memoir Never Give an Inch.

More than four and a half years ago, in December 2018, Ebrard announced almost $6 billion for Central American development, but neither Trump nor Pompeo sent a single dollar to “build a more prosperous and secure Central America and thus address the underlying causes of migration so that citizens can build better lives for themselves and their families at home. ” (See https://n9. cl/vpisws)

Ebrard was fooled by the Americans. There was no help from the U. S., but instead 30,000 Mexican National Guard soldiers were deployed on the southern and northern borders, as Trump demanded with the stick of tariffs.

Mexico, which presumes to be an independent and sovereign country, unmistakably accepted the extraterritorial application in our country of Title 42, which expires today, on the pretext of preventing the spread of Covid-19.

Trump's successor desperately needs the Lopez Obrador government to stem the wave of migrants, now about to overflow along the border. We'll see dramatic scenes.

Biden knows full well that his political future depends to some extent on AMLO, because if AMLO lets the crowds at the border checkpoints pass, he could lose his reelection next year. Trump will gratefully fan the xenophobic fire to return to the White House, with the help of his Mexican friend.

AMLO is aware that it has a powerful negotiating tool with the migration issue to dissuade Biden from intervening in domestic and energy policies. ‘If you support the NGOs that are opposed to my government and go against Pemex and the CFE, I’ll let the migrants through. ’

It would certainly be a masterpiece, but it is still perverse to try to use migrants as cannon fodder and pretend to be their protector.
