NEOCONSERVATIVES AND PRO-ISRAEL LOBBY DOMINATE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES
The early presidential debate organized by CNN showed
the world and the uninformed and apathetic American electorate, that the elites
of that country can elect presidential candidates, in the two major political
parties of the United States, as dysfunctional and unfit to govern, as Donald
Trump and Joe Biden.
Donald Trump has not changed his rhetoric since 2015,
when he began his run for president, blaming all of America’s ills on illegal
migrants, anti-U. S. powers and even its allies, whom he accuses of taking
advantage of Washington’s goodwill. And of course, he accuses Democrats of
allowing all of that to happen.
It is a facile speech, which the masses of the
Midwest, South, and Southwest can understand, and which strips them of
responsibility for the many problems that American society has, blaming others
for what happens, and instead extolling the average American as hardworking,
law-abiding, and patriotic.
Likewise, Trump maintains his subordination to the
pro-Israel lobby, supporting the genocide committed by the Netanyahu government
against the Palestinians, mainly because Zionist oligarchs in the United States
are funding his campaign, and demanding unconditional support for Israel from
Trump.
For his part, Biden showed in the debate that his
senile dementia not only incapacitates him to be a presidential candidate, but
even to continue in the presidency. But there are so many economic and
political interests around Biden that it looks like they could not back down in
their support for the current president.
In addition, Biden has pursued a policy of near-total
support for the Israeli genocide in Gaza, providing a guarantee to the
pro-Israel lobby that Washington will not abandon the Netanyahu government even
if the conflict in the Middle East expands to Lebanon and even achieves the old
Zionist goal of throwing the West into war with Iran.
What is beyond doubt is that the
military-industrial-security complex, the pro-Israel lobby, and the cabal of
neoconservatives that continue to dominate U. S. military, foreign, and
economic policies are well covered when it comes to presidential candidates, as
both Trump and Biden will follow the dictates of these power groups.
Even if Biden were to be replaced in the presidential
race by Vice President Kamala Harris, it would constitute another net gain for
neoconservatives, as Harris has been an instrument of them and the pro-Israel
lobby for many years, so her possible candidacy would be a reaffirmation of
neoconservative and pro-Israel interests in the presidential race.
